Natural stone is available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and textures. It has many applications and can be incorporated into both formal and informal outdoor living spaces.
At the most basic level, it can be used to create long lasting and beautiful surfaces for your yard. By mixing and matching complimentary styles and colors, we can add a “wow” factor to your landscape that is impossible to replicate with engineered materials.
Varieties of natural stone include, but are not limited to: sandstone, limestone, granite, slate, travertine, quartzite, and basalt. These different types of natural stone can be sourced in a wide range of natural forms – from flagstone to ledgestone and from pebbles to boulders.
FLAGSTONE
With its rough edges and asymmetrical shapes, Flagstone is one of the most beautiful stone installation options. Available in earthy shades of brown, red, gray, and blue; flagstone blends naturally with the surrounding environment. Flagstone is installed in random patterns to create casually elegant entryways, walkways, patios, pool decks, and courtyards. The most common types of flagstone include: sandstone, limestone, slate, bluestone, and quartzite.
PERMEABLE PAVERS
Flagstone can also be purchased pre-cut into geometrical shapes that have smooth edges. We utilize these pre-cut pieces to create patterned stone installations that look more formal (less rustic) than random set flagstone. There are many common patterns that can be set using stones from a wide range of dimensions, each creating a unique final outcome. Some of the more popular options include: running bond, ashlar, and pinwheel.
